2021

Since 1990, The Council has been extending invitations to the community to decorate the “Tree of Hope” with personalized ornaments bearing the names of people being honored. Whether to commemorate those who have lost their lives to addiction or to celebrate and honor a life gained in recovery, each ornament placed on the beautiful evergreen is a representation of the hope of recovery from addiction.
In addition to the Bucks County Courthouse, there will be Trees of Hope located across the community The Council serves. There will be a Tree of Hope in our Recovery Community Centers in Bristol, Norristown, and Philadelphia, our Chester County office and our RISE office in Quakertown. When you make a gift, your ornament will be placed on the Tree of your choice.

The “Tree of Hope” is also a unique opportunity to acknowledge individuals who have made a positive impact in your life or the life of others as they struggle against this often misunderstood disease. Please join us in honoring family members who have successfully achieved recovery, and commemorating survivors, mentors, and/or loved ones who have been lost to addiction.
We know that the holiday season can often be a difficult time for those impacted by substance use disorder and their families, and those grieving loved ones lost to this disease. This year, we know that the pandemic we face has brought increased isolation and stress, and we have worked tirelessly to respond to community need creatively and compassionately. We’ve applied that same creativity to planning this year’s version of this beloved community tradition.
